Who is Sri Swamiji?
Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, often called Sri Swamiji, is known as one of the great Masters of traditional yoga teachings in India. Away from India he reaches his audiences through his special benefit concerts, as well as his seminars on yoga and Indian philosophy. He has the rare ability to explain profound philosophical ideas in a way that is easy to understand and integrate in our lives. To cite an example:
"The body is not permanent for anyone. So, don't clamour after the body. Don't confuse the body with the Atman (the self, soul) or consider it as your goal or end. Don't cheat yourself. In this life span every second is precious. Don't waste it. To realize peace, Yoga instructs us to mentally disengage though we are physically engaged."
Sri Swamiji cares very deeply about the well-being of people, animals and the entire creation. The Institutes he has founded in India and in many other countries support non profit organizations that provide food donations, education, medical treatments and rehabilitation, old age people care, disaster relief among others.
In India Sri Swamiji does a lot to support and maintain cultural traditions. With his concerts and teachings worldwide, he seeks inter-religious dialogue and exchange with people from all walks of life. Sri Swamiji dedicates his life to supporting people on their spiritual journey. In this spirit the upcoming days in silence with the accomplished Master will be an exceptional experience.
